Hi,
I'm Helen van Rijn, I live in the Netherlands and I have my own small computerbusiness.
I've made one website using Joomla and I struggled a lot. So when I read about the Joomlashack University I figured it would be a good idea to learn more about all the possibilities of Joomla. I hope to learn a lot and it would be nice to get in contact with other students.

Greetings,
Helen

Hello all My name is Willlam and I am in Glasgow, Scotland. I have been trying to get to grips with Joomla for almost six months with little success. I really hope that this course will help me get a better understanding of Joomla overall.
Look forward to sharing and learning with you.

Hi All,
My name is Linda and I live in Massachusetts.  I've been playing around with Joomla for a few months and love it.  I develop small websites and have a handful of clients.  I am ready to learn more so I can offer this CMS solution to my clients.

Hi my name is Cheryl. I am an adult student, and very close to completing a Communications Degree.

I recently completed an internship that involved creating a website with Joomla. I continue to work on the site, but have come across many challenges that I have been unable to solve. I'm hoping that I will improve my Joomla skills significantly through the materials offered.

Hi All,  My name is Chuck and I blog full-time at www.Marriage-moments.com .  I currently use WordPress on several Blogs.  I am transitioning from being a web designer/developer.  I have closed my company and am not offering these services anymore, but I want to learn Joomla so that I can combine it with some of my Blog sites.  I know xhtml/css/php very well, but know almost nothing about Joomla.

I look forward to learning with you!

Blessings!  Chuck

Hello everyone,
My name is Karen and I live in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada.  I will be needing to set up a simple website for an organization I work with and I have chosen to use Joomla to create it with.  As a total beginner, I am looking forward to learning all I can about Joomla through this terrific opportunity.

Hello, my name is Darren Ladner. I am a webmaster at a junior college in Texas and also do freelance web programming and design. I have been following Barrie for about two years now. I have his book and his DVD. I love his enthusiasm for Joomla and his desire to teach others about the greatest CMS on the planet. Barrie, I do hope that the beginner courses have some new information, tricks or tips for Joomla.  Barrie, how often will courses be added? Is this course a go at your own pace? Or is this setup more like a college semester? Thanks in advance for teaching us.

Your making me blush Darren Smiley

The courses will be go at your own pace, we anticipate the beginner's course will take less than a month.

By the time you get to the end of that, we'll have more content up for you to be digesting!

Hi,
I live in Vancouver, BC. Last year a start-up company designed a site for our small business using Joomla.

Then they went out of business.

So now we have a lovely site, but when we want to make changes I have to stumble around trying to find where and how to do it.  Kind of like travelling in a strange land with a hand-drawn map and a compass.

So I'm hoping to combine what I learn at Joomlashack U with what I am learning about SEO at the University of BC, and make sure our website really takes off!

It's at www.worldbeatcanada.com.

Cheers,
Patricia

Welcome Patricia!

That's an adaptation of this template:
http://demo.rockettheme.com/aug08/

Definately worth making sure you go through that demo for various customization guides they have there.

Hi, I'm Kim Gawlowicz from Birmingham AL (yea, a Polish name in the deep South...fits in real well down here)  Anyway, I've been learning from Barrie for almost a year.  I have his books....versions 1 and 2...and DVD tutorials... and watch his blogs, twitter etc...I guess I'm a bit of an addict, but I really like his style and as a result was able to take on a MAJOR project and my kids school (www.popcatholic.org, click the school link) which I was completely NOT qualified to do.  But hey, it's fun jumping in head first...the concussion should be gone soon.  Seriously though, I worry every day about the site getting hacked because I haven't actually had time to read all the stuff I've bought from Barrie.   Grin  Time flies by way too fast and I'm hoping this class will get me more comfortable that I am doing things the right way.  I think I barely got in...probably the 100th person, but I'm very excited to be a part of the group!  BTW, glad to hear about the upcoming church template.  I'll be redoing the church's site soon.

Hi all,
My name is Romuald. I'm from Warsaw, Poland. For last 9 years I run small computer company. For last 5 years we also do some webdevelopment mainly in html, php, css. I've given joomla a try few times before, but always had not enough time to learn it as well as I should. I hope that JoomlaShack University will give me solid knowledge base to start my joomla expirience for good.
