Hello from a new fellow learner

Hello to the group!  I've built several Joomla sites and maintain them, but I really want to systematize and give better discipline and structure to what I've been hunting and poking with for some time. 

Once Vince Lombardi gathered the Packers in the locker room after suffering a loss, starting his talk with the words, "Gentlemen, this is a football."  He held up a ball in his fingers, then began a process of getting back to basic execution on the field.
I haven't suffered a loss, and I don't even follow football (so I don't know why I used a football metaphor), but I do want to get back to basics on Joomla and give my site deployment and development some real discipline and structure, and the way to do that is to begin at the beginning.  When I got started Barrie North's book was the best help to me, so I think I have come back to the source.
I look forward to learning a lot.
