The five finalist have been chosen!

Read about each charity and cast your vote for the one you would like Joomlashack to donate $1,000 USD to.

While your there, consider a direct donation to a charity or two - or all...  Smiley

Voting ends Sunday 12.30.2007 at 11:59PM EST - so cast your vote, and spread the word!

May peace on Earth prevail for all men, women, and especially, for children.

This is a noble work from Joomlashack. May God bless the team. You know we have to help those who are in need and mostly the children, the weakest part of our society.

Let's make a difference today. Share the love and happiness to all the needy children this Christmas.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It's not that I don't care about mistreated or missing children, but Now is the time to combat the desecration of our environment. Actually, the time was 20 years ago. Wink Which means it's more important than ever to put things right.

This is great guys, actually all this finalist must be peoples concerned, I'd choose this "empowerment of environment" because this will destroy not just children but all human race. May this charities continued not just this Christmas Eve, why don't you have "JOOMLACARE" site, "An Open Source also An Open Heart". More power & God Bless.

I cannot think of a more deserving group than abused children.  Although each charity is highly important, I truly believe the world will be here long beyond any human can imagine.....an abused child might not be....

If we place our efforts in the children, we can change the world.  If we place our effort in the world, people will never change.

Peace to all and thanks for the opportunity to vote!

The death of a child can cause more disruption in the lives of people than any other event, across cultures, religions, socioeconomic groups, or race.

There is no greater tragedy.

The MISS Foundation gets my vote.

As the mother of a son wh passed away when he was 20 months old, I pray every night that no other parent ever has to know the pain I feel, however, if they do, I hope they find out about the Miss Foundation. Please give them your vote.

I think, there is no need to compare one work from another, because all these works from different Foundations are needed for humanity one way or another. Whether it be of helping poor children, saving the environment.. helping the poor and disabled.. whatever.. we have to unite to improve our only one planet.

All the finalists deserve to be a winner. Let's support them one way or another.

Thank you very much.

The MISS Foundation certainly has my vote.
JOOMLASHACK has my respect and gratitude - thank you for giving each of these worthy organizations a shot at some much-needed income in a time where charitable giving is on the decline.  Offering an opportunity to help these organizations to do what they do best is the right thing to do.

As a mother that has lost 2 children before having our miracle. Miss Foundation has been by my side
since April 2003. They are still as supportive as they were when I lost my 1st child Sabastian.
And again through another lost with my 2nd child Abigail. They deserve my vote again, and again.
Thanks Miss Foundation for everything.

The MISS Foundation gets my vote, there is no more tragic event than the loss of a child.  The work they do in support of grieving parents is immeasurable.

Though I commend joomlashack for their efforts, I have to call into question the legitimacy of charitable organizations.  Every year, world poverty and hunger rates incline while you would expect, with so many charity organizations tackling this problem, these rates to decline.  This tendency for rates to incline, despite so many generous donations by individuals and businesses, makes me question whether or not the money donated to them reaches the donor's intended recipients.  It seems if these tax-exempt charities were really concerned, primarily, with erradicating world hunger and poverty, their efforts would be reflected in declining poverty and hunger rates.  However, this is not the case, and it makes me question the motives of the charities.  I would be interested to see their financial information to glean information about CEO/Director/Trustee compensation, faculty wages, operational costs, yearly donation totals, and how much of those donations are invested in the stock market to make tax-free money from stock trades.  Generally, foundations have been used as a tax haven for the rich.  They donate $10 million to their foundation, use it as a $10 million tax deduction, invest $7 million of that $10 million into the stock market through their foundation, make $6 million tax-free money from investment of that money in the stock market that year, and give grants for the remaining $3 million.  Tax-exempt foundations are thus scams created by the rich to avoid paying personal income taxes and making tax-free money from the stock market.   The income tax was sold to the people of the United States, in 1913, as a way to reduce the gap between the rich and poor. The funny thing is that it was drafted by the rich who had no intentions of paying income taxes, so before the bill was passed they created foundations and donated all their money to them and made them tax-exempt in the bill.  They even gave the profits from their companies to their foundation thus tax-exempting their company profits.  Yes, I am skeptical of foundations and charities.  Foundations like the Ford Foundation and Rockefeller Foundation have used their 'philanthropy' and 'grants' as a means to finance think-tanks to use 'scholars for hire' to provide the intellectual justification for governmental policies beneficial to their corporate interests, and educational grants have been used as a way to make sure professors are teaching exactly what crap the Foundations are telling them to.  Either they teach the kids what the foundations want them to, or they lose their money for their pet projects and their inflated salaries.  Some things the foundations want taught is that minimum wage is bad, monopolies are good, and industry deregulation is the only way forward.  You can see how beneficial these teachings are to the foundations corporate interests, and this is but one way they use their 'philanthropy' for self-interests. Their philanthropy isn't philanthropy at all, it's various means to an end of serving their self-interests.

Just 2 days before Christmas.  As I reread my list, I remember the child who is dearly missed.
That beautiful child, who loved to run and play, was taken too quickly on that cold winter day.
As my heart fills with sorrow, and the tears wet my face, I would give anything to feel that tiny embrace.
So as I watch the Christmas spirit pass over the masses, I will miss you now, and after Christmas passes.
I will continue to trudge along this way, and hope that we will meet in heaven again someday.

Today, I think about my beautiful best friend whose heart breaks all over again, as she remembers the passing of her beautiful little girl.  I could hear the pain in her voice when we spoke this morning.  She will revisit this day each and every Christmas, as her daughter was taken just 2 days before the holiday.  My heart goes out to all of you who are just like her.  I wish you blessings and love.  And, I hope you know that you will see your angels again someday.

Please vote for this MISS foundation.  Every grieving parent deserves hope.
