Picnik for Joomla Documentation
Getting started
Picnik for Joomla is pretty simple to get started with. First, register for a free account at the Picnik site: http://www.picnik.com/app. Once registered, log in and visit the following page to request the API Key: http://www.picnik.com/keys/request
Once you have an API Key, make sure you have the minimum requirements (view here) to install Picnik before installing. Then install Picnik onto your website. It will install the Picnik component, Nooku Framework, Picnik editor button, and Picnik admin module.
Next, go to Components -> Picnik, and click on the Preferences/Options toolbar button in the top right. It will open a modal window, and you need to copy your API Key into the correct box. You can also set the other preferences there, and hit save.
You are now ready to go! Go to an article edit page, and see the Picnik editor button. Click it and it will open a file browser. Find an image you would like to edit, and click Edit in Picnik. You will see the Picnik editing interface, and when you are done changing it, click on the Export button at the top right.
You will be asked if you want to write over the existing file, or if you want to rename it. Once you have selected which to do, it will save the image to your site and redirect you to the browser page. Then you can find the file you updated, and insert it into your content.
