While and outstanding stand-alone service, however, one problem quickly emerged for Joomla website owners: how to integrate the Joomla user database with iContact?

The problem needed solving, so we decided to build a complete integration using iContact's API. We call this integration component J!Contact.

J!Contact is a Joomla component that seemlessly integrates your site's Joomla users with iContact. J!Contact allows you to ask your site visitors to give you their email address by either registering for your site or simply adding themselves to your newsletter list. Here's how it works:

Registering site visitors are added automatically to a designated iContact list:
Exponentially increase traffic by drawing registered users back to your site through iContact's powerful autoresponder and email newsletter tools.

Non-registering site visitors can subscribe themselves to your newsletter list and be greeted by their first name:
Joomla only collects the full name as a single field, but research shows that email addressed to a first name has a higher response rate.

J!Contact works only in Joomla 1.5 (native). J!Contact is a free, unencoded extension.
