I watched a ShackU video, "Creating a blog with K2" by Forest Linden. I just want to say, "excellent job Forest!!". It's very rarely that I can find a video where everything is done just about perfect. Visually the videos are clear and look great even when expanded to full screen. You speak clearly. You stay on topic. It's obvious you guys/gals at JoomlaShack put time into making sure these videos meet some kind of quality standard before publication. Either that or your just a very multi-talented individual Forest...

I use Camtasia to make how-to videos for retirees learning to use computers for the first time. It's not an easy task to get right. I think I spend almost 45mins of editing for every 5-10mins of video I make. That's why I'm impressed with the work done at ShackU.

" I would rate myself an "Intermediate" Joomla user. Someone who has a good understanding of it....but someone who is certainly not a code creator...and certainly not someone with the skills to develop an awesome template, especially a CSS compliant one. I recently made the decision to migrate an integrated phpBB forum on my Joomla site to the SMF forum system and as fate would have it, at the same time, I spotted the Simplicity template at JoomlaShack....and wanted it! Taking the site off-line to perform the forum transfer, I extended that 'down time' by around 36 hours. Thatís all it took to get most of the site migrated thanks firstly to Joomlaís template system, but mostly to the template itself, the instructions and ease of use. The Simplicity template is superbly put together and what impressed me even more was the amount of support material that came with it...backed by exceptionally prompt responses to questions in the JoomlaShack forum. Not only were detailed instructions provided on how to use the template, but a complete tutorial on how to alter the template also. Itís nice to see an approach (to what is a commercial product) that recognises a need for flexibility in user requirements. CSS compliance, fluid design and a great look to my site were all things Iíve been working on for ages, but something that was always going to be a laborious ëwork in progressí. The Simplicity template has allowed me to immediately address many of the issues Iíve been working on for quite some time. " I was contracted to build a website for Derek Moran B.A., R.F.P., President of Smarter Financial Planning Ltd., in Kelowna, BC Canada. I knew Derek would require a slick, tight and simple design, but I wanted the power of content management tools found in Joomla. I was reluctant at first, because my specialty is SEO, and I was concerned with a number of limitations common to a lot of CMS sites. " As a non-designer who has to teach designers, such is the life of an educator with IT skills! I have very much appreciated using your VooDoo template please see my colour scheme through changing the CSS etc. It still needs some work but joomla is bliss compared to the state I was in with Dreamweaver 22,000+ files menus and submenus and a full site update taking hours and hours if it worked at all. Joomla is ideal for large complex sites with menus and being able to change menus easily without whole folders having to be updated is so much easier. Ok it took time to transfer but is now far easier to manage and update. I also work with moodle VLE (http://moodle.org in case you haven't seen it), MovableType for blogging and Mediawiki though working more with colleagues using pbwiki. Your survey was OK but you should have a look at http://www.ijoomla.com/ The templates and joomla are very much admired by colleagues and students. Keep up the good work even if users can ruin you colour combinations! "
