Celebrated once every 4 years, the Joomlashack Leap Year Celebration Sale was first held on February 29, 1972 in a wild soirée of free love, rock & roll, and community. It set a "high" bar for the following Leap Year celebrations. Four years later in 1976 and in the middle of the energy crisis, we did not expect much, however, taking advantage of the US bicentennial we were able hold a wonderful red, white, and blue party, though we have since changed back the company colors to green and black.

Regretfully, there have been some very bad Leap Year Celebrations. Who can forget infamous (and potentially litigious) disco-themed 1980 Celebration that left a certain ex-member of our team getting a restraining order from Donna Summer? Or the Y2K Leap Year Party fiasco? We are still looking for that fella that assured us to spend wildly because "Y2k would destroy all our credit card records". And yes, those of you who constantly remind us, we are still apologizing for the "Help-Elect George W. Bush Leap Year Party" of '04. In memoriam of our mistake, we skipped the 2008 party.

And so, here we are again. It has been 8 years since our last Leap Year Celebration and we are thirsty and ready to party. Cheers to Pope Gregory XIII who got the original "Gregorian" Leap Year party started in 1582 and which has left us with this extra day every 4 years.
