Last month, Facebook and Instagram made some breaking changes to how you can embed their content.
This post has a good overview of the updates. The short version is that both services retired their old, simpler embed system.
With the old system, you could embed Facebook or Instagram posts with just the URL, so long as you were using a platform such as WordPress, or Joomla with the OSEmbed plugin. That old system no longer works. Any previous Facebook or Instagram embeds are probably broken.
With the new system, you have to create a Facebook app in order to use any FB or IG embeds. Click here for instructions on creating a Facebook app.
If you want to embed Facebook or Instagram content on your Joomla site, please make sure you're using at last version 1.4.16 of OSEmbed Pro.
OSEmbed Pro also has extra embed sources
During this update, we've also updated the underlying code libraries in OSEmbed. The Pro version of the plugin supports an astonishing 187 media sources. Here's a full list of everything you can embed with OSEmbed Pro:
