Joomla 3.8 Launched With a Secret Feature

Joomla 3.8 Launched With a Secret Feature

There's an Easter Egg hidden in the new Joomla 3.8.

Earlier this week, we wrote about (almost) all the new features in Joomla 3.8.

Well, it turns out we missed one, and it wasn't mentioned in any of the launch announcements either.

Thanks to this patch, the Articles screen now has much more powerful features.

Go to Content > Articles in your Joomla site, and you'll be able to use multi-select filters to search for articles. This will be very useful for sites with large numbers of articles. This feature supports Categories, Access Levels, Authors, and Tags.

OSYouTube Pro Now Supports Short YouTube URLs in Joomla

Release of OSYouTube Free 3.3.4 and OSYouTube Pro 3.3.5

We are happy to announce new releases for the OSYouTube plugin.

OSYouTube Free 3.3.4 and OSYouTube Pro 3.3.5 are now available.

The new Free version is a maintenance release with bug fixes, but the new Pro release contains an important new feature. OSYouTube Pro allows you to use http://youtu.be URLs.

We've also updated the technical requirements for OSYouTube.

Important: Call for JCal Pro Beta Testers

Call for JCal Pro Beta testers

Are you a JCal Pro user? If so, we'd love your help, please.

We're looking for beta testers to test the upcoming JCal Pro 4.3. This will be a major update that requires some changes to the database to reset the dates of pre-existing events.

Testing these date changes is where we would really appreciate your help.

A First Look at Joomla 4

A First Look at Joomla 4

Here at Joomlashack we've started to get questions about Joomla 4.

We've even had people asking us why we don't have training available for Joomla 4 yet!

So, it's time to give people an overview of the progress being made on Joomla 4. What's the current state of this new version? What features will be included? Will it be easy to update?

Let's dive in and answer those questions.

The Wright Framework Works with Joomla 4!

Hey, Wright (Almost) Works with Joomla 4!

Here at Joomlashack, we use the Wright Framework to build great Joomla templates.

Wright currently works perfectly with Joomla 3 websites.

However, we had no idea whether it would work on Joomla 4. After all, Joomla 4 isn't even in alpha yet. And future Joomla updates have always been complicated. Surely the move to Joomla 4 would be difficult?

We were wrong. Moving Wright to Joomla 4 was surprisingly easy.
