One of our Shack Article Layouts Pro customers recently found that the articles in a multi-column layout had different heights, even though the Match height parameter was enabled.
This feature normally gives every article block in the same row an equal height. However, it requires the jQuery library to work.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to enable jQuery and restore the matching article heights.
The Shack Article Layouts Pro module can automatically give the articles in a multi-column layout the same height:

This happens because the Match height parameter is set to Yes by default:

In some cases, however, enabling this parameter may have no effect. The article blocks will continue to have different heights:

This may happen when the page is not loading the jQuery library. The script responsible for matching the article heights requires jQuery to work.
How to enable jQuery
- In your Joomla dashboard, go to Modules.
- Open your Shack Article Layouts module.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Set Load jQuery to Yes.
- Make sure that Match height is also set to Yes.
- Click Save & Close.
- Clear your Joomla and browser caches.
- Visit the page containing the module and check the article heights again.
The module should now give the article blocks in each row the same height.
Will jQuery be loaded throughout the website?
Enabling Load jQuery does not load jQuery throughout your entire website. It affects only pages where that particular Shack Article Layouts module is displayed.
If your template or another extension already loads Joomla’s jQuery framework on the same page, Joomla should prevent the framework from being loaded twice.
