We are happy to announce that we implemented a new feature in OSDownloads Pro 1.13.3.
OSDownloads supports Joomla's custom fields in two ways: you can use fields to show more information about your downloads, and to collect more information from your visitors.
Starting from this release, you can get notified about that information you collect from visitors.
What is OSDownloads?
OSDownloads allows you to offer files for download.
Most importantly, it is also your best marketing tool. Using OSDownloads, you can easily build an email list in exchange for a free file download.
Create a file for download, set "Require Email" to "Yes" and you're good to go!
The New Feature
The new feature in OSDownloads improves your administrator email notifications.
In earlier versions administrator notification emails included only three details:
- The file name.
- The file ID number.
- The email address.
Starting from version 1.13.3, administrator notifications emails will also include data from the file's download fields.
For example, for my demonstration, I created the following two download fields for my file:
- First Name.
- Surname.
Now, when a site visitor downloads this file in exchange for their email address, OSDownloads Pro will include the visitor's first name and surname in the email notification:
