A couple of our blog readers asked if there is a way to change the feel and look of the JCE interface. You can do that with JCE's themes.
In this blog post, I will give you a tour of the JCE's built-in themes. You will also get a sneak peek at the upcoming in JCE 2.8.0 new theme "Retina".
What is JCE?
"Joomla Content Editor" (JCE) is one of our favorite Joomla extensions. It will save you a lot of time and efforts while you work with your Joomla content.
JCE has been around since 2006 and has been outstanding since its launch. It makes content editing ridiculously easy and fast, whatever your task is:
- Adding images
- Create tables and much more.
It's built by Ryan Demmer at https://JoomlaContentEditor.net.
What are JCE's themes?
If you would like to change the look and feel of your JCE interface, you need to change its theme.
At the time of me writing this blog post, JCE features five built-in themes:
- Office Blue
- Office Silver
- Office Black
The upcoming JCE 2.8.0 will include one more theme - "Retina".
You will find all of them in the "Toolbar Theme" setting of the "Features & Layout" tab of your active JCE profile:
Here is how each of the currently available five themes dresses up your JCE toolbar.
A sneak peek at upcoming JCE theme "Retina"
The JCE upcoming version 2.8.0 will include a new theme - "Retina":
It will nicely keep your JCE toolbar design consistent with your currently active theme. With "Retina" you will continue managing your Joomla content smoothly and comfortably. You'll have no interruptions to your JCE user experience.
Note: I've taken this screenshot under JCE 2.8.0 Beta 6.
