In December we asked our Joomlashack community to vote for one of our five finalists in our annual Joomlashack Charity Contest, with the winner receiving a $1,000 USD cash prize. With only 10 days of voting, and during the major holiday season for many of our customers, we are impressed by both the impressive vote totals and comments posted by the voters.

It seems our winner, the MISS Foundation, did some effective outreach to involve their own members in voting. Their organizing paid off, as they ran away with the contest, taking over 58% of the vote!

The MISS Foundation certainly deserved the prize we sent them on December 31st, but we still would like everyone to check out the four other finalists, each an organization very worthy of your attention, support, and donations.

While the contest and 2007 are over, nothing's stopping you from checking them out now and giving your own charitable contribution. The children and communities these charities support still need your help, regardless of what year it is.
