The Joomla World Conference is in Vancouver in November

The Joomla! World Conference (JWC) is back for the 5th year!
After two years in the USA, followed by a year in Mexico and then India, the JWC is now headed to Canada.
The 2016 edition of JWC is in Vancouver. If you've never been to Vancouver before, you'll find it's one of the most beautiful cities in North America.
The conference is about six weeks away now, so there's plenty of time to get your tickets.

Joomla.com Will Be a WordPress.com Service for Joomla

There was big news from the Joomla community today which announced a new WordPress.com-style service for Joomla.
This service will be hosted at Joomla.com and will offer free hosting accounts for life.

A Joomla App Store May Be Coming Soon

The Joomla Extensions Directory provides millions of visitors with thousands of extensions.
There's currently work underway to provide access to the JED directly from the administrator area of Joomla sites. The plan is for Joomla users to be able to install extensions directly from their site.
Joomla 2.5.13 and 3.1.4 Released

Both Joomla 2.5.13 and 3.1.4 were released this week.
Remember that updating Joomla is now as simple as logging in to your Joomla site and clicking on the flashing icon that notifies you of an update.
Both of these releases are regularly scheduled maintenance releases and only provide bug-fixes. There were no security patches.
Updating immediately is recommended but not absolutely essential.
A Big Week for Joomla Events
