Joomlashack Makes Donation to Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity

As I mentioned in my last blog post, Joomlashack pledged to donate 50% of Tuesday's sales to help the victims of last week's devastating earthquake & tsunami in Japan.
I'm proud to announce that thanks to our loyal customers, Joomlashack was able to make a very generous donation to the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity on Friday.
Thanks are also in order to PayPal and Missionfish-- a wonderful service which allowed us to wire 100% of our donation through PayPal to both charities quickly and easily and with no fees!
Again, on behalf of everyone here at the 'Shack, thank you so much for helping us help the good people of Japan during this very difficult time.

One of the many cool things about working for an online company, like Joomlashack, is that you can log in and work from the comfort of your own home. We all get to see our families a bit more each day; can work in our PJs all day if we want; and never, ever have to worry about long commutes to work. It's a pretty sweet deal.
Our team is spread out all over the world, so working out of one central office would be a bit difficult at the moment. And that's why Skype has been such a godsend to us. It’s allowed our team to stay connected to each other despite us all being in multiple timezones.

I don't want to wait till the month is over to thank our customers and fans for making September the best month in Joomlashack's 5 year history. We work very hard to create all these great products and your purchases, loyalty, and encouraging testimonials motivate us to work even harder. To loosely quote Mike Mulligan from the loved children's book, when so many of you are watching us, we strive to work much harder and better.
This is a perfect time to say how proud I am of the Joomlashack Team: Amanda, TJ, Forest, Shawn, Jeremy, Gary, Christopher, Casey and David. Just last month this great team launched an unprecedented 4 Joomla templates, 3 Premium Wordpress Themes, 3 New Professional Drupal Themes, the awesome Joomla Extension Lifestream, and a whole batch of new courses, classes and Joomla video tutorials for the University.
This month, we launched the cool and refreshing Cascada Joomla template, the ultra modern Nuvo Joomla 1.5 template, a free Wordpress Theme, a free Drupal Theme, as well as updates for Lifestream, and more Joomla lessons for the University.
Again thank you, and please keep watching us as we'll be launching more top-notch templates, themes, and training materials to help you with your online presence.

WOW, time flies! It's hard to believe, but almost five years ago, on Sept 1st 2005, Joomla was officially launched. Just a day later, on Sept 2nd, Joomlashack was founded.Like Joomla, we've gone through some big changes since then, especially the past year or so--a new team, new Premium Joomla Templates, launching Joomlashack University, releasing new Joomla Extensions and now our own Wordpress Themes & Drupal Themes, too!
Big changes, indeed--but one thing that will never change at the 'Shack is our commitment to bringing you the very BEST Joomla (and other CMS) products at the very BEST value anywhere.
We want to thank you all for making Joomlashack so successful these past 5 years. Here's to another 5!

Joomlashack University - the fastest and easiest way to learn Joomla is about to close its doors for the second time.
If you haven't heard, Joomlashack University is our new Joomla training course. Its delivered 100% online so you can learn at your own pace, and in the comfort of your own home. Each month we open to only a few students, and then stop taking on subscribers. This makes sure our teacher-student ratio is low and everyone's questions are quickly answered.
In November we opened our doors for 200 students have have about 10 spots left. We will be stopping open enrollment next Monday 14th of December, but these last 10 spots will probably go by the end of today!

Joomlashack University Reopens Today

In October 2009 the new Joomla training course - Joomlashack University opened its door to its first class of 100 students. For the last 4 weeks, these students have been learning how to Joomla with our rich video screencasts and tutorials and asking questions and networking in our forums.
Before launching Shack U, we knew we had a great product to offer. We gave leading Joomla figures a sneak look at the content and, as you can read yourself, they loved it.
As well as teaching insider Joomla tips and tricks to our first students, we have been taking feedback and improving the course. We have streamlined the student path through the learning content and added more courses.
After 4 weeks, we are ready to open our doors again.
Joomla User Survey early results

It's early yet, but the early results from the Joomlashack 2009 Joomla User Survey are already sparking conversation about who uses Joomla, and how.
Launched 10 days ago, the Joomla User Survey has already received more than 1,000 responses, yielding a rich pile of data about many important Joomla-related questions, including:
- How Joomla users view GPL vs Non-GPL Extensions
- How Joomla security and bug releases are perceived and handled
- Usage of free vs commercial templates
