OSMap Now Supports Phoca Gallery and jDownloads

OSMap Now Supports Phoca Gallery and jDownloads

OSMap is one of the first and most successful extensions here at Joomlashack. Every day, over 200 people download and install the Free version of OSMap.

Why do so many people use OSMap? It's because a Joomla sitemap will help Google and other search engines find and understand your site's content.

If you're using other extensions, there are many plugins available that integrate with OSMap. Today, there are two more because OSMap now supports Phoca Gallery and JDownloads. These are two of the most popular free extensions in Joomla.

OSMap Pro previously supported K2, Kunena, Mosets Tree, SobiPro, Virtuemart, OSCampus, and Shack Locations.

Create a Joomla Category List with Images

Create a Joomla Category List with ImagesCreate a Joomla Category List with Images

Joomla offers a menu type "Category List" that allows you to display a category and subcategories in a list format.

Normally a "Category List layout" looks like the image below. That examplle is using Protostar as a template. This default design is not very attractive, is it?

We can do it better. For example, we can add an image next to the title of each subcategory. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to do that, using Joomla's template overrides (click here to see all our template override tutorials).

Create a Joomla Module Showing All Articles With a Specific Tag

How to Show All the Articles With a Joomla Tag

Joomla tags can be your best option for organizing your content. You can even consider Tags to be better than categories. A Joomla article can belong only to one category. A Joomla article can be associated with as many tags as you want. Joomla tags also work across extensions. If you create a Content Category, you can only use that with articles. However, tags work with Content, Contacts, News Feeds, and multiple other extensions.

In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to create a module showing all the content that has a particular Joomla tag. This process is a litte confusing, but the end result can be very helpful.
