Shack Locations is Now Live at Joomlashack

We are happy to announce that Shack Locations is now available for Joomlashack members.
Shack Locations is based on FocalPoint, an excellent extension, originally developed by John Pitchers.
Two of our extensions already support Google Maps. Both OSEmbed and Shack Toolbox allows you to show Google Maps in Joomla.
However, the FocalPoint extension goes much, much further.
With FocalPoint, you can create advanced map-based directories with custom legends, markers, infoboxes and hundreds of locations. You can define the content for each location using CCK functionality. You can also give your users the ability to search and filter all the locations.
New Videos for Joomlashack Members: Bootstrap 4

Bootstrap is the most popular design framework in the world. It's an HTML, CSS and Javascript framework that allows non-designers to create clean-looking websites and interfaces.
Joomla 4 will arrive with Bootstrap 4 in the core.
Bootstrap is popular because it provides a pre-built code that solves many of the tricky problems that slow down web projects.
The latest class for Joomlashack members, "How to Use the Bootstrap 4 Framework" is the perfect introduction for anyone who wants to start using Bootstrap. These videos will show you how to use Bootstrap 4's grid system and responsive features. You'll learn how to design menus, buttons, media, and text. You'll also see how to safely override Bootstrap's defaults with your own code.

Joomlashack Adopts the FocalPoint Mapping Extension
- Written by Steve Burge Steve Burge

We are happy to announce that we agreed to adopt FocalPoint, the Joomla mapping extension.
FocalPoint is an excellent extension, originallly developed by John Pitchers.
Over the last few years, we've made it clear that we're willing to adopt Joomla extensions. Whenever we've sent out that message, or announced an acquisition, people suggested Google Maps extensions to us.
With other Google Maps extensions, we weren't able to contact the original developer. But, when a user suggested FocalPoint, we reached out to John. He was enormously helpful and encouraging. Plus, his design and coding work in FocalPoint was outstanding.
So, thanks to feedback from Joomlashack users, and John's help, we're going to adopt FocalPoint. The new name will be "Shack Locations".

OSDownloads is Now Integrated With AcyMailing

- Published: 01 August 2018 01 August 2018

OSDownloads is a great way to store and share files in Joomla. It also allows you to build email lists. You can request email addresses and other details from visitors before they can download your file. This email collection feature of OSDownloads is what you see when you download any free extension here at Joomlashack.
You can also connect OSDownloads to newsletter services so you can send emails to those visitors. OSDownloads supported Mailchimp and Constant Contact. Now it also supports AcyMailing, the Joomla newsletter extension.
In this post, I'll show you how the new OSDownloads Pro and AcyMailing integration works.
Joomlashack Adopts the Extensions of Pixpro Labs
- Written by Steve Burge Steve Burge
- Published: 01 August 2018 01 August 2018

Over the last 13 years, Joomlashack has built popular and powerful extensions and templates for Joomla.
In addition to building our own products, we've also acquired them from other developers. In recent years, we've adopted 6 extensions: JCal Pro, jInbound, Shack Forms, Shack Toolbox, Shack Open Graph, and Tabs and Sliders.
We think that adopting extensions is a win for everyone. In the past, developers had limited options if they wanted to stop work on their extensions. If they made an official announcement, they had to deal with unhappy users. To avoid this, sometimes the developers would just disappear. In contrast, a smooth adoption leads to a great outcome for the developers, users ... and Joomlashack customers.
